八舟河风景名胜区是省级重点风景名胜区,集中了我省南部侗族地区自然景观,民族风情等旅游资源的精华,别具特色.八舟河主景区以高屯镇为中心,高屯一面依山,两面傍水,悬崖峭壁,秀丽险要,古为屯兵之所.春夏青山碧水,秋冬红叶映霞,景色绮丽,如诗如画.八舟河风景名胜由石灰岩喀斯特地貌景观,江,河,溪,库,湖 岛水域景观,亚热带喀斯特森林景观,地下溶洞景观,丘陵草场景观以及村寨田园光和侗苗风情所组成.风景区分别沿八舟河.福禄江自西南向东北延伸.面积15平方公里,平均海拔400米.拥有众多的奇峰,悬谷,溶洞,天生桥等奇异景观.蜿蜒的八舟河象一条蓝色的飘带浮游在冈峦起伏的丘陵,草场,丛林之间,连接一串串如翡翠,玛瑙般色彩斑斓的景点,构成一幅幅既粗犷瑰丽又清新淡雅的山水画卷.八舟河的源头,是雄峙于群山环抱中的八舟电站大坝,断高山云雨,出高峡平湖,每当雨季,湖水漫坝垂落,犹如在两山之间横空而挂的一幅银色巨幕,飞泻而下的瀑布,响声震山谷,极为壮观.顺河而下,眼前呈现的是一派田园风光的八舟村.村边和岸上原由沙洲八个,如八小舟浮于河面,故八州村是为名.八舟河岸有一岩,名仙人岩,高数十丈,悬崖峭壁,有零星小木点缀其间,在异峰突起的峭壁顶端,并立怪石四尊,如仙人奕棋,山巅正中,有一劲松敖立,形如巨伞,遮盖四仙,岩下八舟河蜿蜒东流,河雾升腾,云蒸霞蔚,山峦浮云,俨然"蓬莱仙景",为黎平一大名胜.八舟河下游还有一景,名"江心岛".距鸬鹚架大约500米,四面环水,远远平视,江心岛若浮水面,岛上古木交柯,翠竹列岸,鸟啼蝉鸣,风光绮丽.由此乘舟逆流返程而上,经上乌鸦左拐入福禄江,上行1.5公里至湾寨桥上游.这里两山夹峙,山环水绕,河谷紧锁,一天然石拱桥横跨两岸峭壁之间,此桥由古河伏流穿凿而成,桥身为石灰岩,自然精巧.桥壁上有许多石乳堆积形态,如:唐僧取经,青龙腾飞等,形态各异,栩栩如生.桥下为一深潭,河水穿桥而过,周围森林覆盖,野芳侵道,富有幽僻之野娶,桥前后两端岩壁下有穿洞,溶洞,游人可从桥下穿洞盘旋而至桥上,天生桥宽118米,拱跨103.1米厚40 米,距离=水面33,64米.远远望去,巍然矗立,奇崛壮观,.堪称天下第一桥.有诗曰:人凿难施鬼斧穷,天心穿出地玲珑.两山壁立龟梁架,巧夺争传造化功.近年来,来此游玩的人络绎不绝。
