湖泊湖泊lake陆地上相对封闭的洼地中汇积的广阔水体。这种相对封闭的洼地称湖盆。湖泊是湖盆与运动水体相互作用的综合体。由于湖泊中物质和能量的交换，产生一系列物理、化学和生物过程，从而构成独特的湖泊生态系统。地球上湖泊总面积约2058700平方千米，占陆地面积的1.5％。湖泊水体的总水量约176400立方千米。贝加尔湖风光根据湖泊成因，大致可以分为以下类型：①因地壳构造运动形成的构造湖（包括断裂湖、凹陷湖），岸陡、水深。②因冰川作用形成的冰蚀湖、冰碛湖。③因火山喷发，在火山口洼地中积水形成的火口湖。④因地震、滑坡、山崩、泥石流、冰碛或火山喷发的熔岩和碎屑物堵塞河流而形成的堰塞湖。⑤因风力作用使地面形成风蚀洼地而积水，或因沙丘之间洼地积水而形成的风蚀湖。此类湖泊，一般湖底平、湖岸形态规则、面积小、水浅无出口、湖水面变化大、含盐量高，多为暂时性湖泊。⑥河流改道、截弯取直、泥沙淤积或受河流强烈冲刷等形成的牛轭湖、滩地湖、决口扇湖等。⑦对可溶岩的溶蚀作用，形成溶蚀洼地积水形成的溶蚀湖。⑧人为活动形成的人工湖，如水库。按湖水最终流向，可分为外流湖、内流湖；按地理位置可分为热带湖、温带湖、寒带湖；按湖水中营养物质富集程度，可分为富营养型湖、贫营养型湖及它们的过渡性湖；按湖水矿化度，可分为淡水湖、咸水湖、盐水湖等。事实上，各类湖泊不是单一成因形成的，往往是在多种因素，内、外营力共同作用下形成的。湖泊有独特的水文特征，包括湖水运动、水量补给与损耗、水位变化及其对河流径流的调节等。湖水基本运动形式有波浪、湖流及其他动力现象。波浪是在风的作用下，水质点作圆轨迹运动，以波形向前传播到岸边浅水区波浪破碎。湖水有垂直运动也有局部的水平运动。湖流就是湖中水团的定向运动，分重力流和风生流。其他的动力还有增、减水；定振波（即湖水位围绕一定位置发生有节奏的垂直升降变化）、水体混合现象。湖泊的水量平衡与否，反映湖泊水位变化，两者关系密切。
