小球藻  绿藻门绿藻纲绿球藻目小球藻科的一属。目前已知的约10种,中国常见种为:小球藻(Chlorella vulgaris)、椭圆小球藻(Ch.ellipsoidea)和蛋白核小球藻 (Ch.py-renoidosa)。小球藻属都是单细胞,单生或聚集成群体。细胞呈球形或椭圆形,直径 3~10微米,生殖时期直径可达23微米。细胞内有一大型色素体,呈杯状、片状或周生。光合作用色素为叶绿素a、叶绿素b、叶黄素和胡萝卜素,生活时的色素体呈草绿色。蛋白核有时不明显。本属藻类分布在淡水、咸水和土壤中,在营养丰富的水体中尤为常见。小球藻是多污带和甲型中污带的指示种。    小球藻是水体中的初级生产者,营养价值高,是鱼类等水生动物的饵料,在污染物沿食物链的传递中起着重要作用。小球藻的人工培养已积累了丰富的经验,所以可作为研究污染物在水体中迁移转化规律的重要材料。                小球藻能同颤藻属、席藻属、栅藻属等藻类以及某些菌类在自然水体中组成生物薄膜,可以吸附水体中的有机物,并可以直接利用有机物作为碳源和氮源,使一部分有机物分解。小球藻又可以通过光合作用摄取细菌分解有机物时产生的二氧化碳,并放出一部分氧气,有利于细菌对有机物的分解作用,使污染水体得到净化。
