吴梅吴梅(1884~1939)中国戏曲理论家,戏曲史家,杂剧、传奇作家。江苏长洲(今苏州市)人。主要致力于声韵和格律的研究。任北京大学中文系教授时,首次设戏曲课,后任中央大学、中山大学和金陵大学等校曲学教授,弟子甚多。撰有《南北词简谱》、《顾曲麈谈》、《曲学通论》等书和《风洞山》、《东海记》、《落茵记》等12种剧作和《霜厓曲录》、《霜厓词录》、《霜厓诗录》等。他曾编选校印所藏明清戏曲善本为《奢摩他室曲丛》二集。他在《南北词简谱》中采用归纳法为每一曲牌选定标准模式,以阐明该曲牌的作法、声韵、格律等要点,并对历代曲谱中遗留的疑难问题,多有疏释,对曲学研究者校订曲本、审定曲律有重要参考价值。《顾曲麈谈》和《曲学通论》对制曲的规律、唱曲的方法、元明清曲家及其流变等也都作出系统而详细的介绍或阐述。
