河南曲剧　　戏曲剧种。又名河南曲子戏、高台曲。由坐班清唱的河南鼓子曲中杂牌小调与民间歌舞踩高相结合，于1926年经临汝县农民同乐社搬上舞台，发展为戏曲剧种。由于曲调易学，用本嗓演唱，表演接近生活，传播极快。剧目以民间生活小戏居多，如《李豁子离婚》、《小姑贤》、《小姑恶》等。也有从鼓子曲目中改编的,如《祭塔》、《花亭会》、《蓝桥会》、《闹书馆》、《安安送米》、《金精戏窦仪》等。1933年，流传到河南中部周口和东部开封一带。抗日战争时期，又流行于陕南和鄂北。在流传过程中，不断吸收梆子、京剧等地方大戏的表演艺术,行当脚色也由小生(俗称相公)、小旦(俗称丫环）、丑(俗称和尚)发展为生、旦、净、末、丑，在剧目上移植演出《铡西宫》、《哭洪堂》、《白蛇传》、《白玉簪》、《血手印》等,也曾摘取长篇大书,如《呼延庆打擂》，编成连台本戏上演。现知传统剧目有 210多个。早期著名演员有朱天水(旦)、朱六来（生）、李金波（旦）、赵和洲（丑）等。　　　　曲剧唱腔结构为长、短句曲牌联套体制。唱腔曲牌有150多种，其中有来自明、清民歌小曲的〔阳调〕、〔诗篇〕、〔茨儿山〕、〔剪剪花〕、〔银纽丝〕、〔打枣竿〕、〔太平年〕、〔罗江怨〕，有来自鼓子曲的〔马头〕、〔潼关〕、〔满江红〕、〔劈破玉〕、〔小桃红〕、〔青阳扇〕等。伴奏用的丝弦曲牌有〔大起板〕、〔山坡羊〕、〔高山流水〕、〔状元游街〕等130 多种。伴奏乐器以坠胡、三弦、筝、琵琶为主，并采用了锣鼓等打击乐。　　　　中华人民共和国成立后，河南曲剧不仅在本省大部地区盛行，而且在甘肃、陕西、河北、安徽、江苏、湖北等地也建立有专业剧团。历年整理的传统戏有《陈三两爬堂》、《风雪配》、《卷席筒》、《阎家滩》、《草人媒》、《寇准背靴》等；创作的现代戏有《赶脚》、《下乡》、《掩护》、《游乡》等。其中《赶脚》、《下乡》、《陈三两爬堂》、《游乡》、《卷席筒》、《风雪配》均已摄制成影片。新成长起来的名演员有张新芳（旦）、王秀玲（旦）、邢金萼（生）、马琪（生）、谢禄（净）等。
