具体音乐 将自然界和现实生活中的各种音响（包括乐音与噪音）录音，再通过音响机件予以加工合成的"音乐"。属现代派音乐的一种。具体音乐的特点是将音乐的概念扩大到包括一切自然音响。最早的创始人是法国工程师P.谢菲尔。1948年，他在法国国家广播电台实验室进行了实验，所用的素材包括噪音、火车声、人声、打击乐声及其他。谢菲尔将这些音响的录音带分别处理，通过快速或慢速播放、倒放，加进回声混响效果，又进行剪接,除去不需要的部分,最后混录成新的磁带作为成品播放。其早期作品有《铁路练习曲》、《墨西哥之笛》等，以后谢菲尔又与P.亨利合作有《单人交响曲》等（见现代主义音乐）。 具体音乐出现以后，在法国、美国、德国、日本均有人相继仿效，较知名的有O.梅西昂、P.布莱兹、黛敏郎等人。电子音乐兴起后，具体音乐的特点（即在音乐中使用噪音及自然音响）即被电子音乐所吸收，两者的差异只在于具体音乐使用自然音响，而电子音乐直接用电子器件将所需音响制作出来，在听觉上难以区分。
