艾美虫属艾美虫属Eimeria原生动物门孢子纲真球虫目艾美虫科的一属。寄生于家畜、家禽以及其他动物体内。寄生于家兔体内的有9种。其中寄生于肝脏的只有肝艾美虫,其余8种都寄生于肠道。艾美虫的发育可分为无性繁殖、有性生殖和孢子生殖3个阶段。艾美虫在发育过程中,均可产生卵囊,有椭圆形、圆形或卵圆形,外面包着两层卵囊壁,一端具有卵孔。艾美虫病是家兔疾病中最常见的一种,能使幼兔大量死亡或减弱兔体对各种传染病的抵抗力,是养兔业的重要危害之一。
