白化病  一种皮肤及其附属物色素缺乏的遗传病。可分全身性白化病和局部性白化病两种,以前者最为常见。患者皮肤呈白色,毛发银白或淡黄色;虹膜呈淡红色或淡灰色,半透明,瞳孔淡红,视网膜无色素、羞光,眼球震颤,视力下降;病人对阳光很敏感,日晒后,皮肤可增厚并发生鳞状上皮癌。白化病的发病是由于黑色素代谢障碍所致。下常人体内的黑色素由黑色素细胞合成,黑色素细胞内有黑素小体,它含有酪氨酸酶,这种酶能将酪氨酸转变成黑色素。白化病患者体内黑色素细胞数目正常,细胞内也有黑素小体,但由于控制酪氨酸酶的基因发生突变,不能合成酪氨酸酶,于是黑素小体中酪氨酸酶缺乏,不能使酪氨酸转变成黑色素,从而导致皮肤、粘膜、毛发、眼等白化。白化病有多种遗传方式。全身性白化病属常染色体隐性遗传方式。局部白化病为常染色体显性遗传,眼白化病(皮肤、毛发均正常)可为X伴性隐性或常染色体隐性遗传。白化病遍及全世界,总发病率为1/10000~1/20000。对白化病目前尚无有效的治疗方法,因此应以预防为主。禁止近亲结婚是重要的预防措施之一。对此病也可作产前诊断。在妊娠4~5个月时,通过胎儿镜取胎儿一小块皮肤,在电子显微境下检查胎儿是否为白化病,以避免患儿的出生,达到优生的目的。
