前奏曲前奏曲prelude自由结构的短曲。常放在具有严谨结构的乐曲或套曲之前作为序引。15、16世纪的前奏曲是作为琉特、哈普西科德或管风琴演奏的即兴性乐曲，由和弦和走句交织而成。巴洛克时期的作曲家对此加以继承和发展，把它用作赋格或组曲的开始曲。19世纪F.F.肖邦使这种体裁脱离了赋格和组曲成为独立的钢琴特性曲。继作者有A.H.斯克里亚宾、C.德彪西等人。19世纪40年代以后，短小的歌剧序曲也称前奏曲，如R.瓦格纳的《罗恩格林》前奏曲、G.威尔第的《弄臣》前奏曲等。
