菠萝菠萝Ananascomosus凤梨科凤梨属多年生常绿草本。又称凤梨、黄梨。全属约6种，作为果树广泛栽培的仅菠萝1种。原产巴西和巴拉圭，16世纪由葡萄牙人从美洲传入中国。1650年由福建传至台湾。主要产于广东、广西、福建、海南、云南、多分布在北回归线以南。泰国、美国、巴西、墨西哥、中国、菲律宾和马来西亚为主产国，科特迪瓦、肯尼亚、厄瓜多尔、孟加拉、南非和古巴等也有大面积种植。菠萝菠萝株高0.7～1.5米，茎短粗，呈褐色，基部有吸芽抽出。根着生茎的周围。叶自茎的上部丛生。穗状花序自叶丛中抽生。果实肉质，似松果状复果，多呈圆筒形；果肉黄色（见图）。栽培品种约有70个，可分为卡因类、皇后类、西班牙类三大类。菠萝冬季生长适温15℃左右。对土壤适应性较广。根好气浅生，有菌根共生，叶背面的气孔和茸毛有贮存二氧化碳的特殊结构，还能阻止水分蒸发，故耐旱，但不耐寒。一般用芽苗繁殖，以冠芽繁殖的植株最优，以吸芽培养的苗次之。施肥期以花前、壮果和果后3次为重点，并须增施钾肥。适时摘除冠芽、裔芽和选留吸芽，有利养分集中和果实正常发育。对土壤要求不严。病虫害较少。菠萝果实除鲜食外，多用以制罐头，因其能保持原来风味而受到广泛喜爱。叶纤维可作绳、渔网等原料。
