氟碳人造血在战争中受伤的士兵、各种事故的受害者、手术台上正在进行抢救的病人,都需要输血。尽管各国都有献血者,但血液还是不够用,因为不光医院要用血,制造凝血酶、丙种球蛋白、白蛋白等多种药物,也需要血。如果能够制造出一种人造的血液或者血液代用品-------生理溶液,该有多好啊!对人造血液作出重要贡献的是美国辛辛那提医学院的小利兰克拉克。他将1/3的氟碳化合物同2/3的盐水搅拌混合。这种液体既能运送氧气,又能排除二氧化碳,还可溶解血液所含的许多物质。此外,它不同人体内的其他化学成分结合,使用起来非常安全。如今,各国研究出来的氟碳化合物“血液”类型较多,如日本的“氟卢素-----da”人造血,美国的万能输血用新型血细胞,前苏联的全氟萘烷等。1980年6月,我国第一次将自己研制的人造血应用于临床,这一年就有14个病人获得满意的结果。氟化碳液体具有人血那样的重要功能,能将从肺部吸进的氧气输送到人体的各个部位,又能将各个脏器排出的二氧化碳输送到肺部排出体外。不同的是,全氟化碳人造血输送气体是个单纯的物理溶解过程,氧气和二氧化碳机易溶解在全氟化碳液体中,在流动中完成气体的传递。100毫升的全氟化碳能溶氧气50毫升,是人血载氧能力的1.5倍;全氟化碳和氧的结合速度是14-20毫秒,比红血球快得多。由此可见,全氟化碳是较理想的血液代用物。人造血另有优点,它不必验血型,可直接给人体输血,不会引起坏的作用。
