大果大戟形态特征大戟科大戟属多年生草本植物,具白色乳汁,高30-50厘米。根状茎粗壮,圆柱状。叶互生,无柄;叶片椭圆形、长椭圆形、卵状长圆形或倒卵状长圆形,长5-10厘米,宽1.5-3.5厘米,中脉宽扁;花序基部的叶卵形、菱状卵形,常3-4枚轮生,长2-6厘米,宽2-4厘米。5-6月开花,总苞半球状,裂片半圆形,边缘有白色棉状毛;腺体5枚,肾形。蒴果卵球形,长可达12厘米,有皱纹。种子球状长圆形,长6毫米。生境分布:生于海拔2700-4600米的山坡林下及山坡草地。分布于西藏。印度、尼泊尔也有。用途:根有毒,经制后药用,治重症水肿、胸水、腹水、积聚痞块等症。
