虫霉科虫霉科Entomophthoraceae接合菌纲的一科。该科成员菌丝体无隔多核。无性繁殖时,菌丝体形成隔膜,然后断裂成虫菌体,或是在孢子体的顶端形成单生的单核或多核孢子,待成熟时强力射出。如果找不到合适的基物或寄主,可不立即萌发生出菌丝,而多次重复形成能再次强力射出的次生孢子。有性生殖与接合菌纲的其他种类大体相同,可形成接合孢子,也可不经过融合而形成无性接合孢子。虫霉科真菌大多寄生在昆虫或其他动物上,一小部分可以寄生在植物上,或者腐生在土或粪中。本科下分6属,其中比较重要的是虫霉属、蛙粪霉属和耳霉属。少数种类可引起人和动物的疾病,如裂孢蛙粪霉可使人患皮肤病,耳霉属的一些种可使哺乳动物患鼻虫霉真菌病。
