卫矛科卫矛科Celastraceae双子叶植物纲蔷薇亚纲的一科。乔木或灌木,常攀援状。托叶小或无,早落;单叶互生或对生。花序为腋生或顶生的聚伞花序或总状花序;花两性,有时单性;萼小,4~5裂,宿存;花瓣4~5;雄蕊4~5,与花瓣互生;子房上位,1~5室,每室具1至多颗胚珠。翅果、浆果或蒴果;种子常有假种皮。约40属500种左右。主要分布于热带、亚热带及温带地区。中国有12属200多种,全国各地均产。其中十齿花属、永瓣藤属为中国特有属。该科有许多种类具有经济利用价值,如卫矛的翅枝为通经散瘀止血崩的妇科药,又可作杀虫和泻下药;树皮含杜仲胶可制粗胶;种子含油,可供制皂和作润滑油;木材可供制小器具;本种也是很好的庭园观赏植物。扶芳藤茎叶有驱风、补气血之功效。大叶卫矛树皮富含杜仲胶,可提制粗胶,又可入药,有利尿、强壮之效;全国各地多栽培作绿篱。南蛇藤果实药用,有调心脾、安神镇静、续筋骨功效,茎皮富含纤维,可作混纺织品及造纸的原料。云南美登木对淋巴肉瘤、多发性骨髓瘤等恶性肿瘤有较明显的疗效,其有效成分为美登素Ⅰ和美登素Ⅱ。卫矛科植物花序为聚伞花序,子房上位,心皮合生,具下垂胚珠等形态特征,与冬青科有密切的亲缘关系。
