朱砂根(红铜盘、大罗伞)形态特征:紫金牛科紫金牛属灌木植物,不分枝,高1-2米,有匍匐根状茎。叶坚纸质,狭椭圆形、椭圆形或倒披针形,顶端急尖或渐尖,长8-15厘米,宽敞-35厘米,边缘皱波状或波状,两面有突起腺点,侧脉10-20对。花序伞形或聚伞花序,顶生,长2-4厘米;花长6毫米,花瓣白色,稀略带粉红色,盛开时反卷。果球形,直径6-8毫米,鲜红色,具腺点。生境分布;生于丘陵山地常绿阔叶林下,杉木林下或溪边、村边荫蔽潮湿灌木丛中。分布于长江流域以南各省区。朝鲜、日本也有。用途:根及全株有活血去瘀、清热降火、消肿解毒、祛痰止咳等功效。
