《诗品》《诗品》中国古代诗歌评论著作。南朝梁钟嵘著。书中品评了自汉至梁共122名作家的五言诗的上下优劣,故称《诗品》。全书分为上中下三卷,并仿照班固《汉书·古今人表》和刘歆《七略》的品论方法,把这些诗人分入上中下三品。上品包括李陵、班姬等11人及无名氏古诗;中品包括秦嘉、徐淑等39人;下品包括班固、郦炎等70多人。每品又依时代先后次序排列,一一予以品评。钟嵘在《诗品》中除了品评之外,还提出了关于诗歌创作的重要理论。①有感于当时永明体诗风的泛滥,批评了诗歌创作中的堆砌典故和宫商声病,提出诗歌“口吻调利”、自然和谐的标准,为诗歌的健康发展端正了方向。②有感于当时诗歌批评中重四言而轻五言的儒学正统思想的影响,指出四言诗在当时已“每苦文繁而意少,故世罕习焉”,而五言诗则“居文词之要,是众作之有滋味者也”,“指事造形,穷情写物,最为详切”。从理论上为五言诗的发展开辟了道路。③提出诗的滋味说,认为只有“使味之者无极,闻之者动心”,“使人味之,亹亹不倦”的诗,才是好诗;好诗应该“文已尽而意有余”。这种诗味说对后世诗文创作有深远影响。④提出诗歌创作的“真美”原则,即诗歌创作要有真情实感,反对虚假的无病呻吟,同时指出“真美”与艺术表现上的自然的密切联系:“自然英旨,罕值其人。”钟嵘在《诗品》中对作家作品的风格渊源进行了历史的分析,提出了较为系统的看法。但是由于他不重视生活阅历对作家风格的决定性影响,不曾周密地考虑作家风格的多样性和复杂性,而仅仅着眼于某一方面的相似与否,因而也就不可避免地犯了主观、牵强的毛病。此外,钟嵘在《诗品》中对作家的分品也有不妥之处,如把陶渊明、鲍照列入中品,对作家的优劣品评未能完全摆脱形式主义倾向,引起后世不少非议。这些都是《诗品》的历史局限性。钟嵘的《诗品》,标志着中国古代文艺理论与文学批评发展达到了新的阶段,在中国文学批评史上占有极其重要的地位。对后代的诗话有深刻的影响。现存版本有《津逮秘书》本和《学津讨原》本。另有近人许文雨的《诗品讲疏》、陈延杰的《诗品注》等。
