《郡斋读书志》 中国现存最早的私家藏书目录。南宋晁公武撰。晁公武(约1105～1180)字子止。澶州清丰(今巨鹿)人。祖居汴梁昭德坊,故称昭德先生。撰有《易》、《春秋》等诂训传,曾以监本"九经"校蜀石经,撰《石经考异》。在四川荣州为官时得井度大量赠书，1151年前后撰成《郡斋读书志》。该书有1157年前后四川刊行本共 4卷；宋淳祐九年(1249)衢州刊行本，共20卷，收录图书1461部；宋淳祐十年(1250)袁州刊行本共4卷，收录图书1468部。 袁州本后附《后志》2卷、《考异》1卷、《附志》1 卷。《后志》是衢州本传到袁州后，以衢州本中多出的435种编成；《附志》为赵希弁据其私人藏书编成,收录486 种图书，多为晁氏身后新出之书。宋刻袁州本久不见流传。《四库全书》仅得清初流传的巾箱本。1925年在北京故宫发现原刻本，后影印收入《四部丛刊》三编。 衢州本流传较少，清乾嘉间出现旧钞本。1884年王先谦以袁州本补订，并依衢州本编为20卷，后附赵希弁《附志》1卷。 《郡斋读书志》按经、史、子、集四部分类法编排，袁州本分43类，包括经部10类、史部13类、子部17类、集部3类。"衢州本"分为45类,子部多"星历"类，集部多"文说"类。该书前有总序,四部各有总论,各类小序在每类第一种书的提要中，叙述学术源流。每书撰有提要，或介绍作者生平，或讨论书中要旨，或论学派渊源，或述篇章次第， 较偏重于考订。晁公武的《 郡斋读书志》，在目录的体系和提要考订方面都有首创之处，对以后出现的一些著名目录如《直斋书录解题》、《文献通考·经籍考》等都有一定程度的影响。
