祛痰祛痰通过消解或排除痰涎来治疗各种疾病的方法。又称化痰。痰是由机体水液代谢障碍，水湿积聚而产生的病理产物。痰在生成之后，又成为致病因素，损害脏腑的生理功能，表现出不同的证候。痰不仅可以停留在肺，也可以停留在人体的其他部位，因此痰所致的病证很多，祛痰法的应用也非常广泛。常用于滞痰在肺而致咳喘咳痰；痰浊迷心而致的胸闷心悸，神昏癫狂；痰停留在胃而致的恶心呕吐，痞满不舒；痰停留在经络筋骨而致的瘰疬，痰核，肢体麻木，或半身不遂，或阴疽流注；痰浊上犯而致的眩晕；痰气结于咽喉而致的梅核气等。根据痰的病因、性质以及不同的临床表现，祛痰法又常分为燥湿化痰、清热化痰、温化寒痰、润燥化痰、治风化痰、理气化痰等。临床具体使用祛痰法时应注意以下几点：①治疗痰病时，不宜单攻其痰，应重视治其生痰之本。②痰随气而生降，气壅则痰聚，气顺则痰消。因此祛痰剂中每配伍理气之品。③痰流注经络，肌腠所致的瘰疬、痰核需辅以疏通经络，软坚散结等治法。
