新儒学 中国北宋出现的以阐发儒家经典义理为特征的哲学思潮，即理学或宋学思潮。北宋初期的范仲淹、欧阳修和胡瑗、孙复等人首倡，北宋中期周敦颐、邵雍、张载、程颢、程颐加以发展，朱熹集其大成。他们以孔、孟为宗,以《周易》、《论语》、《孟子》、《大学》、《中庸》等书为主要依据，批判隋唐以来以空无为本体，否定仁义礼智等伦理道德的佛、道学说，他们关心社会现实,提倡所谓"道德性命"之学,并从本体论的高度，探讨宇宙与人生问题。"新儒学"虽有濂、洛、关、闽等学派，但都讨论主客、理事、心性、体用关系及修养方法等。"新儒学"并不简单地回到先秦儒家学说，而是把当时的理论思维水平提高了一步。
