海鞘海鞘Ascidiacea尾索动物亚门海鞘纲的通称。形壶状或囊状,因被有纤维质鞘而得名。广布于各海洋,常附着于岩石、码头木桩、船底、海藻上或埋于浅海的泥沙中。有单体海鞘,也有无性出芽生殖而成的群体海鞘。成体以一端固着于附着基上。游离端有入水孔(口孔)和出水孔(排泄孔),其四周有括约肌司孔的开闭。被囊由表皮分泌而成,内体壁的柔软部为外套膜,外套膜含有肌肉纤维。体壁内为排泄腔或围鳃腔,由排泄孔通于外界,由鳃裂通于咽腔。肛门、生殖孔即开在此腔。海鞘群体海鞘雌雄同体,除有性生殖外,还有无性出芽生殖。无性生殖的结果往往形成群体。无世代交替现象。
