中国兵器工业第二０八研究所研制的３８ｍｍ防暴枪自１９８９年定型以来，大量装备于公安及武警部队，对维护社会治安起到了重要作用。但随着国内外社会治安形势的日趋恶化，有组织、有预谋的团伙暴力犯罪日益增多，急需研制开发多发装填的大口径防暴武器，以更加有效地驱散近距离骚乱人群及制服团伙犯罪分子。根据这一需求，中国兵器工业第二０八研究所于２０００年开始了警用３８ｍｍ转轮防暴发射器的前期研发工作，经过３个循环的研制，成功地解决了大口径转轮防暴武器的驱动、定位、减重等关键技术，并于２００３年正式立项研制。２００５年１１月，警用３８ｍｍ转轮防暴发射器在中国民用枪支弹药检测中心顺利通过了设计定型试验，２００６年７月通过了中国兵器装备集团公司组织的设计定型审查，为我国反恐防暴武器装备又添加了一个新品种。该武器自面世以来参加了多次国内主办的警用武器装备展览会，已被４个城市的公安局试用；同时走出国门，参加了第１３届法国军警武器展览会，受到了国内外警务人员的广泛关注，目前已出口到两个国家。◆系统组成警用３８ｍｍ转轮防暴发射器为单管大口径手持式滑膛武器，６发转轮弹巢供弹，采用唧筒式工作方式，发射３８ｍｍ系列防暴弹，包括动能弹、催泪弹、发烟弹、染色弹、爆震弹等。该发射器由发射管组件、发射机组件、转轮部件、肩托、前握把、瞄具等组成。其击发机构为联动式，并设有击针保险机构和闭锁保险机构，这两种保险机构不仅可保证闭锁不到位时不能实现击发，而且击发后也不会因振动而开锁，提高了使用安全性。该发射器还设有独特的螺旋驱动装置，通过手拉前握把，可带动转轮旋转实现供弹动作，同时使转轮与发射管双向闭锁，驱动平滑，闭锁可靠。在保障发射器具有足够强度的前提下，研制人员对该发射器进行了优化设计，大量采用轻金属，其发射管、前后挡弹板、发射机座、肩托等部件采用高强度轻质铝合金制成，转轮采用镁铝合金注射成型工艺制成。因此，该发射器质量仅３．４ｋｇ，在国内外同类产品中最轻；不含可拆卸式肩托时全长仅５３５ｍｍ，特别适合在狭窄空间如车船等交通工具内使用。发射管组件 发射管组件由发射管、转轮框、带动杆、导轨、退壳挺、发射机座等组成。发射管前端装有球形准星，尾端与前挡弹板、转轮框联接在一起，下部装有前握把，背带环位于发射管左侧。发射机座是发射器的基础部件，其前后分别与后挡弹板、肩托相连，内装发射机。发射机组件发射机组件装在发射机座内，主要由扳机、阻铁、阻铁簧、击针、击针簧、击针簧杆等组成。该机构为联动发射模式，可进行单发发射和补火发射。转轮部件 转轮部件由带有６个弹巢的转轮体、螺旋柱组成。肩托 肩托为框架式结构。肩托体采用轻质铝合金制造，托底板采用橡胶制造。肩托可拆卸，取下肩托时防暴发射器也可实施发射，便于射手在车船等交通工具内使用。前握把 前握把部件连接在发射管下部的导轨部件上，用于拉动带动部件，驱动转轮实现供弹，同时也可提高射击稳定性和精度。瞄具 由球形准星、ｌ形表尺组成。球形准星固定在发射管前部，ｌ形表尺位于转轮框上，ｌ形表尺的短臂上有缺口式照门，长臂上有两个觇孔式照门。当射程为４０ｍ以内时，可用缺口式照门进行瞄准射击；当射程为６０ｍ时，可将表尺的长臂竖起，用长臂下部的觇孔进行瞄准射击：当射程为１００ｍ时，用长臂上部的觇孔进行瞄准射击。◆装填与发射动作向转轮内装填防暴弹时，一手握住发射机座并用拇指按压锁紧钩后部，使锁紧钩与转轮框开锁（解脱），另一手握住前握把，向下回转转轮，即可打开转轮弹巢，装填弹药。
