岩藻糖  六碳糖的一种。又称6-脱氧-L-半乳糖,并可以看做是一种甲基戊糖。    自然界存在的岩藻糖绝大多数为L-岩藻糖,D构型的岩藻糖仅作为稀有糖,发现于一些糖甘类化合物中。    L-岩藻糖较大量地存在于海藻及树胶中,也发现于某些细菌的多糖中。岩藻糖作为糖蛋白中糖链的组成部分,广泛存在于各类细胞表面的质膜上。岩藻糖比一般六碳糖在第六碳原子上少一个羟基,所以岩藻糖比其他单糖亲水性弱,而疏水性强一些。在某些血型物质分子中的岩藻糖是一定的血型的标记。    通常从海藻中提取岩藻糖,先用酸处理,中和后,以苯腙形式析出,除去苯肼,可得α-L-岩藻糖结晶,熔点145℃。
