古诺古诺(1818～1893）Gounod，Charles法国作曲家。1818年6月18日生于巴黎，1893年10月18日卒于圣克卢。自幼从母亲学钢琴。1836年入巴黎音乐学院学钢琴和作曲。1839年赴罗马进修。1842年回国途中访问维也纳、柏林等地，在莱比锡受到F.门德尔松的热情接待。回巴黎后任教堂管风琴师和歌队指挥，1852年任奥费翁合唱团指挥，1858年在抒情剧院工作。1870年迁居英国，得宠于王室，1874年返法。古诺早年热心宗教，第一部作品即《三声部弥撒曲》。1855年所作《圣塞西勒庆典弥撒曲》是对宗教音乐的一次改革。50年代转向歌剧创作，但前两部《萨福》和《残酷的修女》均归于失败。使他名垂后世的是1859年创作的《浮士德》。这是一部典型的抒情歌剧，他使用现实主义的、丰富多变而又自然的手法，将道白改为朗诵调，并增添了芭蕾场面，使其成为最受欢迎的歌剧之一。有名歌剧还有《罗密欧与朱丽叶》。除12部歌剧外，他还作有3部交响曲及声乐曲等，其中《教皇进行曲》被采用为梵蒂冈国歌，而最流行的是《圣母颂》。图片
