《金融结构与金融发展》《金融结构与金融发展》 【《金融结构与金融发展》1作者雷蒙德·W·戈德史密斯(Ra”阅nd.w.山ld俪thl久”se-)，出生于比利时布鲁塞尔，1927年获柏林大学哲学博士，毕业后在德国先后从事统计和金融研究工作。1男3年迁居美国，供职于美国证券交易委员会和美国战争生产理事会，并加人国际收人与财富研究协会委员会，兼任该委员会主席。1956年至1%1年在纽约大学任经济学教授，1%2年至1974年为耶鲁大学经济学教授。退休后，一直兼任该校经济学名誉教授。 戈德史密斯是国际上颇有名望的经济学家，他研究的领域很广，尤其是在财政、金融和经济史方面建树颇多。在美国联邦政府任职的前段时期(1934一1941年)，他的注意力主要集中在证券市场上，在这之后的第二次世界时期，转而研究战时金融和当时德国的币值改革，战争结束后，又把主要精力用在对金融机构、储蓄、资本股票和国民资金平衡表的统计等方面的研究上。他对经济学所作的特殊贡献是:(l)按储蓄的不同形式对储蓄进行了估计;(2)利用永续存货盘存方法提出了美国的储蓄统计学和许多国家的国民资产负债表估计;(3)对金融相关比率、金融中介比率进行了独创性的研究，并在此基础上建立了一个公式，利用该公式可以表明决定金融相关比率的主要因素。 戈德史密斯从青年时代开始就发表了不少颇有见地的论文，直到现在仍孜孜不倦地著书立说。他的著述，除本书外，其他影响比较大的书还有《资本政策》(1933年)、《美国储蓄召院》(1955年)、《美国国民资产负债表研黔(与R·利普西和M·门德尔森合著，1%3年)、《美国1953一1980年国民资金平衡表》(1982年)、《1臾沿-2977年印度和l肠8一l盯7年日本的金融发展》(1983年)。此外，还在许多国家的不同杂志上发表了不少论文，其中1盯2年发表了《美洲大陆中央银行第10届技术会议学术论文集》上的《拉丁美洲金融发展100年》，在当时引起了较强烈的反响。 戈德史密斯著作的主要特点是资料翔实，定性分析与定量分析紧密结合，采用比较研究方法。 (金融结构与金融发展》一书，出版于1969年，全书分为9章，并有5个内容丰富的附录。全书围绕第一章结论中提示的12个主题展开论证、介绍、阐发，以最简捷的形式，回答在金融发展的各个阶段上谁向谁提供资金、提供了多少资金、利用何种金融工具以及对经济的发展有何影响等问题。本书主要内容是: (l)研究的对象—金融世界。本书第一章对各种金融工具、金融机构、金融结构与金融发展作了简略介绍。
