多晶型现象多晶型现象polymorphism一种物质能以两种或两种以上不同的晶体结构存在的现象。又称同质多象或同质异象。1798年M.H.克拉普罗特发现方解石和文石的组成都是碳酸钙，方解石属于三方晶系，是在较低温度下形成的，文石属于正交晶系，是在较高温度下形成的。1912年M.von劳厄发现X射线衍射后，就可以从晶体结构的角度认识多晶型现象。组成相同、晶体构型不同的物质叫作多晶型体，它们可通过相变而彼此转变。单晶硅和多晶硅都是由元素硅形成的，但它们不是多晶型体，因为它们的晶体构型相同，只是晶体尺寸不同。各种多晶型体具有不同的物理、化学性质，如熔点、硬度、稳定性、溶解速率等的差异。金刚石和石墨的化学成分都是碳，前者属立方晶系，硬度大、透明、不导电，后者属六方晶系，硬度小、不透明、可导电。又如在甾醇类、磺胺类和巴比妥类药物中，由于多晶型体的不同，药效的差别就很大。构型不同的多晶型体称为构型多晶型体，构象不同的多晶型体称为构象多晶型体。多晶型体可能具有不同的颜色，称为颜色多晶型现象，例如，有机颜料酞菁铜的多晶型体有8种（α型、β型、γ型、……）。它们的色光是不同的。
