邻苯二酚邻苯二酚catechol苯分子中两个相邻的氢原子被两个羟基取代的化合物。分子式1,2-C6H4(OH)2。又称儿茶酚。多数以衍生物的形式存在于自然界,例如,邻甲氧基酚和2-甲氧基-4-甲基苯酚是山毛榉杂酚油的重要成分。无色晶体。熔点105℃,沸点245℃(750毫米汞柱),密度1.1493克/厘米3(21℃)。溶于水、乙醇、乙醚、丙酮。可水汽蒸馏,能升华。邻苯二酚是一种强还原剂,易被氧化成邻苯醌;在室温下可还原费林溶液和氧化银溶液;与氯化亚砜反应,可生成亚硫酸邻苯二酚酯;与邻苯二胺反应,生成吩嗪;与氢氧化钡作用生成钡盐。邻苯二酚最早由干馏原儿茶酸或蒸馏儿茶提取液得到,后来发现干馏某些植物和碱熔融某些树脂等也能得到。工业上是通过重氮化邻氨基苯酚后水解,或在高压釜中水解邻氯苯酚制得。邻苯二酚常用作显影剂,但不如对苯二酚作用强;也可作试剂、消毒剂等。
