等离子体不稳定性等离子体不稳定性plasma,instabilitiesin等离子体偏离热力学平衡的性质。大体有两类方式。一类是等离子体宏观参量如密度、温度、压强及其他热力学量的不均匀性,由此产生的不稳定性使等离子体整体的形状改变,称为宏观不稳定性或位形空间不稳定性,可用磁流体力学(见等离子体物理学)分析,故又称磁流体力学不稳定性。另一类是等离子体的速度空间分布函数偏离麦克斯韦分布,由此产生的不稳定性称为微观不稳定性或速度空间不稳定性,可用等离子体动力论分析,故又称动力论不稳定性。等离子体的不稳定性(无论宏观、微观)也可按引起它的驱动能量分类。如磁能引起的电流不稳定性;等离子体向弱磁场区膨胀时膨胀能引起的交换不稳定性;密度、温度梯度产生的等离子体膨胀能引起的漂移不稳定性;非麦克斯韦分布或压强各向异性对应的自由能引起的速度空间不稳定性等。等离子体中种类多样的不稳定性会导致带电粒子的逃逸或输运系数的异常增大,破坏等离子体的约束或限制约束时间。因此,研究等离子体的各种不稳定性,阐明其物理机制,探索稳定化的方法,一直是受控热核聚变研究的一个中心课题,也是等离子体物理学的重要内容。如果等离子体柱仅由其中纵向电流产生的角向磁场约束,则稍有扰动后,因收缩处向内的磁压增大,更趋收缩,膨胀处向内的磁压减小,更趋膨胀,形如腊肠,故称腊肠不稳定性,它可切断等离子体,附加纵向磁场抵制收缩和膨胀,即可使之稳定。如果载有纵向强电流的等离子体柱受扰动稍有弯曲,则凹部磁场增强,凸部减弱,由此引起的磁压之差使扰动扩大,等离子体柱将很快弯曲甚至形成螺旋线,这是扭曲不稳定性,可用纵向磁场使之稳定。如果水在上、油在下,则稍有扰动便在重力作用下互换,等离子体中与此类似的不稳定性称为互换不稳定性。以上数例均属宏观不稳定性。
