脑桥脑桥pons脑干的中段。位于小脑下方延髓和中脑之间，前后缘有横沟为界，其腹侧面（基底部）显著凸出，可见由横行纤维构成的连接小脑左右两侧的桥样结构，因此得名。脑桥的生理功能至今还不完全清楚。已发现的主要有：①参加呼吸节律的控制。脑桥的头端1／3区域内，有调整延髓呼吸中枢节律性活动的神经结构，叫做呼吸调整中枢。它能抑制延髓吸气中枢的紧张性活动，使吸气向呼气转化。②参与对肌紧张和肌肉运动的调节。脑桥的被盖与延髓网状结构背外侧部、中脑中央灰质以及下丘脑后部等共同对同侧伸肌起调节作用，主要是易化性影响。此外脑桥内还有一些神经核团，包括①耳蜗、前庭神经核。与听觉、姿势、肌张力和身体维持平衡有关。②脑桥内的三叉神经核部分与其他脑神经核发生联系，参与角膜反射、喷嚏反射、流涎反射、流泪反射以及眼-心反射。③面神经核及展神经核。分别与面部表情及眼球运动有关。④脑桥的色素核也叫蓝斑。此核发出上行纤维投射至大脑皮层与维持觉醒状态有关。下行纤维参与调节躯体及内脏活动，也是痛与镇痛过程中的一个联系环节。⑤脑桥的中缝核。它们与脊髓和脑的各级水平联系相当广泛，功能多样：参与痛与镇痛过程；参与内分泌、体温的调节；与维持醒觉、睡眠、情绪等活动有关；也与锥体外系的运动调节有关。
