贤孝 青海曲种。由于传统曲目多数是表彰孝子贤妇、忠臣贤主一类的故事，因以得名。流行于青海的西宁市、大通、湟源、湟中、民和一带。贤孝主要分为河州贤孝与西宁贤孝两种。河州贤孝是由甘肃临夏地区的艺人传入青海的，曲调高昂激越，富有豪放粗犷的气势。西宁贤孝产生于西宁，曲调有官弦、老弦、下弦、上弦四种，常用的是上弦和下弦两种，能掌握官弦、老弦的艺人较少。上弦说唱相间,演唱长篇曲目；下弦只唱不说,演唱短篇曲目。过去演唱贤孝的多半是瞽目女艺人，在城市和乡村挨门串户唱曲卖艺。演唱者操三弦自弹自唱，另一人以板胡伴奏。曲调柔和婉转，歌声清脆。曲体是以〔前岔〕、〔后岔〕作为全曲的曲头、曲尾，中间的唱词只用上下两个乐句反复咏唱。贤孝在长期流传过程中，除保存了一些说忠劝孝的传统曲目如《闵子骞孝母》、《白鹦哥吊孝》等，也积累了一些演唱历史故事和民间故事的曲目，如《十字坡》、《林冲买刀》等，还有反映清末回族、撒拉族人民起义的作品《光绪二十一年》等。20世纪50年代以来，出现了不少反映现实生活的新作品。
