孢子虫病 由顶器亚门 (Apicomplexa)孢子虫纲(Sporozoa)的原虫寄生于家畜所引起的疾病。主要有球虫病、弓形虫病、肉孢子虫病和贝诺孢子虫病等。在中国,鸡和兔的球虫病为害尤其严重。病原原虫以发育良好的顶复合器(简称顶器)为特征。主要寄生在宿主的细胞内。其繁殖过程包括裂殖生殖、配子生殖和孢子生殖3个阶段:裂殖生殖属无性生殖,是在滋养体生长至一定大小时行复分裂,细胞核经分裂多次而成为一多核的裂殖体。所产生的后代称为裂殖子,可重复无性生殖,亦可进行有性生殖,即配子生殖,产生大配子或小配子,由大、小配子结合而成为合子。合子外生厚壁,形成卵囊,经孢子生殖形成孢子囊。含有成熟子孢子的卵囊称为感染性卵囊。孢子虫的生活史中有的仅需一个宿主,有的需要更换宿主。如球虫只有一个宿主,粪便中的感染性卵囊为其感染源;肉孢子虫则需更换宿主。防治必须采取综合性措施,包括环境卫生、切断孢子虫的生活史环节、防止饲料和饮水污染,以及对病畜进行治疗等。
