四氯化锡  化学式SnCl4。无色液体;熔点-33℃,沸点114.1℃,密度为2.226克/厘米3;易挥发,在湿空气中因水解而发烟;易溶于某些非极性溶剂,它又是某些非电解质(碘、磷、硫等)的良好溶剂。四氯化锡溶于水,发生水解作用并析出α锡酸:        盐酸可抑制其水解作用。在19~56℃范围内,盐酸可使四氯化锡从浓溶液中以无色的水合晶体SnCl4·5H2O析出。四氯化锡易与Cl-形成SnCl婇。    干燥的氯气和熔融的金属锡反应可制取四氯化锡:          四氯化锡可用作媒染剂、有机合成中氯化的催化剂和糖漂白剂等;还可用于导电性涂层和镀锡。
