黑足雪貂(图)黑足雪貂  黑足雪貂是唯一原产于北美的雪貂,分布在加拿大南部,沿落基山脉向东到美国的奥克拉荷马、堪萨斯州和内布拉斯加广大地区。成年黑足雪貂平均体长0.5米,平均尾长0.15米,平均体重1公斤。毛色通常呈浅黄色,腹部的颜色更淡一些,头顶,眼圈,腿和尾尖呈深褐色或黑色。   老松鼠和地松鼠是黑足雪貂的主要食物,其中草原犬鼠是黑足雪貂的最爱,约占黑足雪貂全部食物的90%。由于黑足雪貂的体型细长,所以能深入到草原犬鼠的洞穴中捕捉食物。雌性黑足雪貂约在1岁以后性成熟,每年的3~4月是它们的交配期,孕期在35~45天。初生幼仔并不弱小,刚出生时身材就能达到成年黑足雪貂的一半甚至3/4。   黑足雪貂属于夜行性动物,而且喜欢独来独往。它们自己从不打洞筑窝,而是利用草原犬鼠遗弃的洞穴作为休息和狩猎的场所。在冬季,它们总是尽可能减少活动,甚至能躲在窝里5~6天不出来活动觅食。黑足雪貂具有强烈的领土意识,同性之间常常为了领土而发生争斗。  草原犬鼠对牧场有一定的破坏作用,因此遭到了牧场主的憎恨。为了彻底消灭草原犬鼠,牧场主们投放了大量的毒饵。其结果是草原犬鼠的确遭到了灭顶之灾,但以草原犬鼠为主要食物来源的黑足雪貂也紧跟着遭了殃,到了1985年,全球仅剩下31只。据世界野生动物保护基金组织报告,黑足雪貂在加拿大境内早已灭绝。由于黑足雪貂夜行性和穴居的生活习性,增加了对其进行进一步研究的困难,但更因为人类的漠视,使得一种美丽可爱的小动物不知不觉地消失了。
