适地适树 立地条件与树种特性相互适应,是选择造林树种的一项基本原则。依据生物与其生态环境的辩证统一这一生物界的基本法则提出。造林工作的成败在很大程度上取决于这个原则的贯彻。 中国很早就认识到适地适树在植树造林中的重要性。如西汉刘安《淮南子》中说:"欲知地道,物其树",指出了树木生长与自然条件的密切关系。北魏贾思勰著《齐民要术》对此有进一步的阐述:"地势有良薄,山、泽有异宜。顺天时,量地利,则用力少而成功多,任情返道,劳而无获",精辟地说明了适地适树的意义和重要性。明代王象晋著《群芳谱》中,对此认识更有所发展:"在北者耐寒,在南者喜暖。高山者宜燥,下地者宜湿。......此物性之固然,非人力可强致也。诚能顺其天,以致其性,斯得种植之法矣。"至于具体反映适地适树的内容,包括不同树种对光照、气候、土壤的不同要求等,在古农书及农谚中更有大量的记载。但适地适树一词则至20世纪50年代后期才见诸于中国的文献,日本也有类似的术语。 古代造林用的树种大多是野生种,对其种内变异又研究不够,因此适地适树中的"树"主要指的是一个物种。现代的适地适树概念中的"树",应理解为不同层次的基因型,也包括适地适种源、适地适类型、适地适品种的含义。研究种内各种源、类型、品种的适生地区和条件,是研究适地适树的新课题。 为了贯彻适地适树的造林原则,必须对造林地的立地条件和造林树种的生物学、生态学特性进行深入的调查研究。这一方面要求按照立地条件的异质性进行造林区划和立地条件类型的划分(见森林立地),另方面要求对造林树种的生态学特性(对各种立地条件的要求)进行深入的研究。一般来说,采用乡土树种造林比较容易实现适地适树,但有时引种外来树种也能取得良好的效果。开展生产性引种前须经过周密的分析及一定时期的引种试验(见林木引种)。 进行定位树种试验以及对造林地(或环境条件相似的土地)的天然林和人工林进行调查,是贯彻适地适树原则的基本方法。在各种不同条件下营造各树种的试验林(即树种试验),可为适地适树提供直接的依据。但要从这类试验林中得出可靠的结论,往往需要几年以至几十年的很长时间。为了较快地获得这方面的资料,可利用天然林和散生树,特别是利用现有的生产性人工林进行调查研究,并应用数量化理论、多变量分析及其他数学方法深入探讨现有林中各树种的生长指标(包括其立地指数)与各立地因子之间及各因子组合之间的相互关系,建立数学模型,对各树种在各种立地条件下的生长进行预测。
