傩傩中国古代宗教文化。初司驱鬼逐疫之职。《诗经·卫风》与《吕氏春秋》均有记载。为了驱逐疫鬼而举行的祭祀仪式,谓之傩仪。汉代以前,每年举行3次,时在三月、八月、十二月,俱为天子所命。主角是方相氏,戴面具,蒙熊皮,执戈扬盾,口作傩傩之声,边歌边舞。三国魏何晏等人所作《论语集解义疏》之《乡党》篇,已有详细载录。傩仪由天子所命的庄严祭祀,渐变发展到民间,经历了逐疫、酬神、世俗化3个阶段:①随着道教的兴起和汉末佛教传入中国,变驱鬼逐疫而为酬神纳吉。②主角方相氏让位于青龙、白虎及佛教中的金刚、力士等护法神。③随着宗教的世俗化,变酬神而为娱人,传统的不可侵犯的神祗,一变而为傩公、傩母;再变则成灶公、灶母;至晚唐,连乞丐也加进了傩仪的行列。至宋,神秘的宗教色彩逐渐淡化,而现实社会的习俗充塞傩祭仪式,自元旦至元宵,丐户戴面具,穿红衣,挈党连群,通宵达旦,遍索酒食,场面十分壮观。约在元明时,嬗变而成傩戏。作为宗教文化形态的傩,本世纪中叶以后,引起各国学者的注意,并进行了频繁的学术交流。
