隋唐绘画史论著述  隋唐两代是中国绘画史论著述的重要发展时期。此时,随着绘画创作的日趋繁荣,创作队伍的扩大以及收藏鉴赏之风的兴盛,画史画论的研究也更深入广泛。著述家继承前代传统,运用前人积累的丰富史料与绘画思想史料,总结古今创作经验,撰写了一大批绘画史论著作与论文,开拓了新的研究领域,完善了画史编写体例。其理论认识、编撰方法与整理记录的大量资料都对后代发生了深远影响。唐代许多著名诗人亦有不少论画诗,从另一侧面保存了绘画史料,反映了当时的理论认识。    隋与初唐是对前人绘画撰著传统继续发展的时期。继南齐谢赫《画品》之后,不断有人续写画品,进行美术批评。隋代姚最《续画品》踵其先,初唐彦悰《后画品》、李嗣真《画后品》(又名《续画记》或《续画品录》)继其后,影响所及至中唐仍有窦蒙《画拾遗录》及徐浩《画品》成书。这些撰述或分品论赞,或不分品,虽涉及画家情况,但仍属美术批评论著,尚非画史。这一时期,中国特有的绘画著录书籍亦得到发展。绘画著录始于《梁太清目》,初唐则出现了裴孝源的《贞观公私画录》,不仅记载卷轴画存世情况,也记录寺庙壁画保存情况,在著录的项目上,较《梁太清目》更加详细,一方面保存了大量史料,另方面对发展和完善中国绘画史料学做出了贡献。    唐代中晚期是绘画史论著述获得划时代发展的时期。在画史编写上,开元(713~741)年间书画理论家张怀瓘的《画断》是已知第1部比较系统周详的画史,可惜已经遗佚。中晚唐则出现了一部集前代有关著作之大成的系统完备的绘画通史《历代名画记》以及第 1部断代画史《唐朝名画录》。因为它们都是从《画品》蜕变而来,故具有分品列传的特点,但分品标准已不同前代。此时的画史著述吸收了中国史学家修史经验,尽可能丰富地运用前人积累的有关资料,并信而有征地亲自采访第一手资料,开创了中国画史撰著上两种影响深远的体例。它们的出现标志着中国绘画史学已从历史学、文学、文艺批评学等相关学科中彻底独立出来,作为一个专门学科正式形成了。在绘画理论方面,伴随一批绘画大师特别是吴道子的出现,张稔撰写了《吴画说》。这是总结论述吴道子创作经验的一部专著,虽已成佚书,其部分成果当被其叔孙张彦远的《历代名画记》所承继。另外,由于山水树石画在中晚唐的新演进,山水画家张璪撰成了《绘境》。其书今已不传,但其"外师造化,中得心源"的经验之谈一直影响至今。在当时的诗文中也保存了若干论画名篇。如杜甫《奉先刘少府新画山水障歌》、《丹青引》,白居易《画竹歌》等,便是其例。    隋唐的绘画史论著述,因时代久远,至今多已遗佚。现存部分撰著,有自古相传脱误者,有伪托者,有后人辑自它书者,但从中仍可窥见其承先启后的重要价值。
